The Beauty of Bali Fabrics

Not only songket, Bali also has beautiful woven works of artisans Village East Seraya, Karangasem. The beauty of natural dyes and motifs woven is become the benefits of the island's east.

In the afternoon Coverage 6 SCTV show, Tuesday (28/10/2013), in the village of Banjar Kangin, Seraya in Karangasem regency, Bali is a beautiful traditional weaving center.

Almost in every corner of the village, the weather became weavers take time. All of the fabrics are done by hand such as like spinning cotton into yarn.

Staining the fabric also uses natural materials, such as leaves, stems or roots of trees. It took many months to get the desired color.

Bebali weaving artisans put quality over quantity. Skilled hands of young people produce cloth at least in 3 weeks.



Bali is a beautiful piece of cloth sold starting from Rp 300 thousand to millions of dollars, depending on the level of difficulty of motifs, colors, and sizes. Bebali fabrics are not just interested local communities, but also become a souvenir of foreign.

Very informative post! I visited this village a month ago after my new york to niagara falls tours with my friends. It is located in Eastern of Bali island. People of this village expand matting Bamboo in daily need like basket, kettle, gedeg and other but nowadays develop into artistic consumption of interior like place of fruit, bokor, latern, trash etc.
