Melaspas Tradition in Bali

Melaspas ceremony was led by a Hindu priest pedanda or assisted some stakeholders that religion.

In carrying out this ritual, people using melaspas offerings consisting of a series of leaf, flower, fruit, cakes and various other materials ceremony means.

There are several series of activities carried out in melaspas ceremony. Ngayaban caru or deliver such offerings. Until rituals aimed ngayaban pamlaspas pray that the building could provide positive benefits for those who use or occupy it.


Melaspas ceremony derived from two words namely MLAs and fitting the separator and suitable means. Meaning is melaspas ceremony uniting two different elements such as wood and stone buildings in decent shape to be occupied.

Melaspas ceremony consists of three levels, namely kanista, middle and highest levels of the so-called primary or pretentious.

This ritual is a form of obedience and trust of Hindus in Bali the power of the mighty master of the universe. The tradition of this heritage has been carried down through the generations for hundreds of years
